Notice of Elections

The Hawaii Nurses’ Association OPEIU Local 50 is conducting an election of its President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer,  Trustees and Executive Board. Newly elected Officers, Trustees and Executive Board members will take office in January 2018 for a three-year term.

All active members in Good Standing may vote in this election.

HNA has contracted with Merriman River Group to provide electronic, telephonic, and US Postal mail balloting as in the 2014 election.

The voting period will begin on November 14, 2017
If you do not receive a ballot by November 24th, please call
1-877-324-7655. Ballot requests can be made until December 8th
Ballots will be counted at 5:00 pm on December 12th
Results shall be announced and posted on HNA’s website as soon as possible following the ballot count

Nomination Notice Hawai‘i nurses’ association, opeiu Local 50

Nominations for the following offices will be accepted from the floor at the October 7, 2017 Membership Meeting at the date, time, and location indicated below.  Nominations may also be submitted in writing by mail to Hawaii Nurses Association, OPEIU Local 50, P.O. Box 31288, Honolulu, HI 96820 or by email to  Nominations submitted by mail or email must be received by 4pm on October 6, 2017.

The term of office will run for three (3) years beginning January 1, 2018.  Candidates elected as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and the Trustee who receives the most votes in the election will also serve as delegates to all International Union Conventions.

President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and three (3) Trustees who will be elected at-large.

Executive Board members: One (1) Executive Board member from each bargaining unit; one (1) additional Executive Board member for every five hundred (500) bargaining unit members; one (1) Executive Board member to represent members who are not Registered Nurses. Members other than Registered Nurses shall elect a peer from that category.

Any active member who is in good standing may nominate candidates.

Any active member of this Union in continuous good standing for at least the preceding twelve (12) months may run for office.

Candidates must accept nomination at the nominations meeting or, if not in attendance, a written acceptance must be received by the Secretary, Cheryl Lynn Miller, no later than October 12, 2017 to the P.O. Box noted above or by email to
