RE:                   Go to www.UANNurse.org to weigh in on staffing where you are.

You can also download a survey to print and mail here.

As part of its “Patient Care Emergency:  RNs Needed Now” safe staffing campaign, UAN is collecting anonymous surveys from staff nurses on what staffing levels are like in their facilities.  We’ll use this information to share with legislators, the public and the media as we lobby for federal legislation that makes safe RN-patient ratios the law of the land.  We’ll also share the information with Affiliates in support of state-level staffing initiatives.

The survey was circulated in the last issue of the UAN Activist newsletter, as well as in the recent issue of the Michigan Nurse magazine, and is now up on www.UANNurse.org (accessible by clicking the “Sound Off on Staffing” banner on the right side).  Thus far, we have received nearly 1,000 responses from nurses with feedback on staffing in their hospitals—and we’d like to double this number, or more.

I urge you to advertise this widely at your meetings and conventions, as well as in newsletters and on your websites.  If you wish to run the full survey (10 questions – 1 page) in your publication, the PDF is also attached here.

Thank you for your assistance in making safe RN staffing a priority and for helping us promote this survey.
