Kaiser Permanente Hawaii and Hawai'i Nurses' Association Joint Communication
Friday, 17 July 2009 10:24

Dear Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Clinic RNs:

pic18434We are happy to announce that we reached a tentative agreement in concept as a result of a joint meeting held on Tuesday, July 14th. The goal of the parties is to help mitigate the impact of the business closure days.

We have agreed to launch a "Pilot Test Program" which adds another option for these business closure days:  paid vacation day, an unpaid day off, or a possible opportunity to make-up time.

In order for this Pilot Program to be tested and in place by the next August closure date, you must inform your supervisor by Friday, July 24th of your desire for an opportunity to make-up time or to take the day-off (as a paid vacation day or unpaid day off).

It is our goal to be able to utilize the bid-shift system by the scheduled October closure date which would give you more potential opportunities to make-up time.

HNA and KP Hawaii will evaluate these options during the Pilot Test Program before agreeing to any permanent make-up time programs. We are scheduled to meet again next Tuesday, July 21, 2009.

Mahalo,
