lmp_logoJoin representatives from Kaiser Permanente Hawaii, the Hawaii Nurses' Association, and the Kaiser Permanente Program Office on July 30th to hear about the rollout and training of Unit Based Teams (UBTs).

Coalition Field Director Dan Ryan and Paul Stanley from the OLMP along with new National Coordinator Jeff McDonald will explain what the Partnership is and how Unit Based Teams will be the vehicle used to lead Kaiser Permanente in performance improvement. The formation of UBTs is in accordance with the 2005 National Agreement.

All KP frontline workers, managers, and physicians will gather at one of four hour-long sessions to learn about the training, tools and support needed to implement these teams. Meetings will be held at  MOA Sunrise Auditorium on July 30 at 8AM, 12PM, 2PM and 4PM. These meetings will provide the first glimpse of the Unit-Based Team vision and how the Hawaii region will work in partnership to provide the best patient care.

UBTs are viewed as critical to Kaiser Permanente’s success and are designed to boost performance and involve all employees in decisions affecting their day-to-day work. By 2010, departments across all Kaiser Permanente regions will fully deploy UBTs.
