Joan Craft, President of Hawaii Nurses Association, is re-elected to a three year term commencing January 2012. Please join the Election Committee in congratulating her and all of the newly-elected leaders of Hawaii Nurses Association.
Members have elected Chris Broussard to serve as Vice President, Skye Bergan as Secretary and Elayne Schwartz as Treasurer. The three new Trustees are Dawn Asano Kawahara, Terilyn Carvalho-Luke and Julie Evans.
This election of 2011 had three bargaining units with contested races for the Executive Board. Anne Giunta-Togo and Stacy Helepololei-Grace will lead Kaiser Foundation nurses. Jill Teruya, Eva Gallegos and Ronald Govina have been elected to represent nurses of The Queen's Medical Center and Joan Kutzer will hold the Executive Board position for Wilcox Memorial Hospital nurses.
Thirteen candidates were unopposed for their respective positions, so they were deemed duly elected upon proper nomination and confirmation of their qualifications to hold office:
Leigh-Ann Gorai -- Hawaii Medical Center - East.
Frank Paz -- Hawaii Medical Center - West.
Rosie Agas-Yuu and Henrietta Jones -- Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children.
Vicky Poland -- Kuakini Medical Center.
Ella Siroskey -- Kahuku Medical Center.
Richard Baskin -- North Hawaii Community Hospital.
Robin Chun -- Queen's Radiation Therapists.
Carolyn Uehara -- Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific.
Kathryn "K.C." Chung -- St. Francis Hospice.
Peter Fong -- Wahiawa General Hospital and
David Lee -- non-RN members of HNA.
The following bargaining units had no nomination for the Executive Board positions, or the nominee declined:
