Kaiser Bargaining News

Hello HNA Kaiser Members, the date of this recording is January 13, 2009. My name is Ravada Benjamin, I am one of the Nurse Negotiators at Kaiser Permanente and I am providing you with your bargaining update.

Due to the unfortunate death in the family of one of our team negotiators, we have concluded that it is in the best interest of all Kaiser Permanente Nurses to extend our contract until January 31, 2009. Because we are at a critical juncture and feel strongly that we need all Negotiating Team Members present to get the best contract for our membership, we will resume bargaining on January 26 - Jan 30th.

In the meantime your team is conducting comparison studies of all of island hospital benefits and wages. Further, we are meeting with a National Media consultant to discuss our options to better inform our HNA membership and the community of our status in this bargaining progress. Your continued support and patience through this lengthy process is essential to everyone's success.

For further updates please continue to visit the HNA website at www.hawaiinurses.org or call this hotline.
