HNA Nominations Committee
Dear HNA member,
There will be some changes in this upcoming election. Please read all directions carefully.
All positions are open for nominations:
On September 17, 2008 the House of Delegates voted to amend the Articles of Incorporation concerning the election cycle to be changed to a 2 year term. The terms of office will begin on January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2011. We will be electing the Board of Directors, Officers, House of Delegates, Nominations Committee, Congress of Nursing Practice and the UAN National Labor Assembly this year. In 2011 we will elect all positions again for a 2 year term to commence in 2012.
No surprise nominations!
Nominations and consents-to-serve are due on September 30, 2009 at 4:30pm. If you nominate another member, please notify the member and ask your nominee to sign a consent-to-serve. It is acceptable for the nomination form and the consent-to-serve form to be in separate envelopes. When the nominations committee opens the nominations it will be too late to obtain a consent-to-serve.
Term limits:
Our articles of incorporation impose term limits for the Board of Directors and for the Nominations Committee. For the Board of Directors “terms are limited to two (2) consecutive terms in the same office, and no more than eight (8) consecutive years on the Board of Directors”. “Members of the Nominations Committee shall serve two (2) year terms or until their successors are elected”.
Can you give one day to your nurses association?
The House of Delegates meets for one day in Honolulu every 2 years. Delegates vote on changes to the Articles of Incorporation, propose and vote on resolutions, and provide direction to the Board of Directors. Please consider nominating yourself or a colleague for this position.
In unity,
Sheri Kearns Sharon Versace Carol Vieira
